  • What is vehicle wrap?
Wraps come in all different shapes and sizes. Wraps start as a large sheet of adhesive backed vinyl film designed specifically for vehicle application made available in a variety of styles and finishes. Some wraps are a full color change in matte, satin or gloss finishes, as well as chrome, "carbon fiber" look, and beyond. Vehicle wraps can also consist of printed designs containing imagery , photos, graphics, or branded elements to represent a business or a group, or "accents" on a vehicle like trim, spoilers, hoods, roofs, and trunks. Truly, the possibilities are endless; recent advancements in vinyl production technology has also opened up the possibilites to textured vehicle wraps like leather, alligator, snake skin, or holographic and 3D films.
  • How much does a vehicle wrap cost?
Every vehicle & and application is different, so price really depends on the scope of your vehicle wrap project. A complete wrap includes door jambs, inner door frames, and sills - this level of vehicle coverage is recommended for those who desire a full color change, and is obviously the most costly. Partial wraps without jambs, frames, and sills are cheaper, but ultimately will not have the same illusion as full coverage applications. All prices will vary depending on the vehicle type, surface complexity, and film used. For a more precise quote, contact us with more information regarding your wrap project.
  • Does the vehicle wrap damage the paint?
No. The material used actually protects your paint-job from minor scratches. Unless there is previous damage or the car has been repainted, vehicle wraps protect paintwork against sun damage, minor abrasions and small stone chips. The vinyl can also be removed after a promotion, or vehicle turnover, leaving the original paintwork in the same condition it was before it was covered.
  • How long does the vehicle wrap last?
Wrap life span really depends on how well the film is cared for, how much day to day stress the wrap gets from road driving, and what quality of film was used to do the installation. Some films last longer than others, and the thicker they are the more damage they can take. We've wrapped vehicles that see plenty of road and track time, and their films have survived more than 5 years without needing parts re-installed or failing entirely.
  • How do I care for my vehicle wrap?
Proper wrap care starts with the basics.Keeping your vehicle's surface clean is the primary concern, so frequent hand washing to eliminate surface contaminates is necessary if you want to keep your wrap from getting stained or damaged from road grime. For those of you with a gloss free exterior, we offer wrap waxing services for matte & satin films to help keep them protected as well as maintain a nice soft, flat finish. We highly recommend NOT to pressure wash the vehicle after installation of the vinyl. Some pressure washers can potentially lift up the vinyl because of improper use of the water pressure. The wrap is an investment to your marketing and advertising strategy and thus it should be protected. You can wash it just like you did before it was wrapped, but it is not recommended that you use wax. We recommend brushless car washes.
  • Will the vehicle wrap protect my paint?
The material used prtoects your paint-job from minor scratches. • What is window film?
Window film is a polyester film, usually made of polyethylene teraphthalate ("PET"). Most films are applied to the interior surface of a glass window in a home, commercial building, marine craft or automobile. They have a scratch resistant coating on the outer surface to protect the film. There are many types of window films. Some are clear and feature multiple layers of PET to offer protection from shattering glass; others are tinted with metals, dyes or pigments to reduce the visible light transmitted through the glass and block heat coming through from the sun. There are even decorative window films that can replicate the look of frosted glass or etched patterns.
  • How is window film installed?
The installation process starts with thoroughly cleaning your windows to remove even the smallest pieces of dirt. A piece of film is cut roughly to the size of your window, its release liner is removed and an application solution is also sprayed on the films adhesive to activate it. The application solution is also sprayed on the window. The film is then placed on the glass and film through the use of a squeegee. The final touch is edge trimming to ensure the film fits perfectly.
  • Does the tint go on the outside or inside?
The short answer is on the inside. First, the film is laid on the outside of the car's windows and cut out to fit. Those pieces are then placed on a larger piece of glass and trimmed before being installed on the inside of the windows.
  • How long will it take to install window tint on my vehicle?
Installation time ranges from 1-3 hours depending on how many windows are being tinted and what type of vehicle you have.
  • Should I drop off my vehicle or wait?
Both options are available and you can do what works best with your schedule. We prefer that the vehicle be dropped off for the day, but we do have a waiting area with TV and magazines for customers who choose to stay for the installation.
  • Can you have window tinting applied to your windows in wet or cold weather?
Yes! With the modern adhesive systems found on today's window tinting products, it is possible to have your car windows tinted even in freezing weather. However, the curing time may be extended in adverse conditions. Professional installers take the weather into consideration during installation, allowing more time to apply heat to the edges of the tint to activate the drying process. The old adage to keep in mind is you get what you pay for. High performance or metal window tinting products insure high quality adhesives.
  • How long should I keep my windows rolled up after I have window tint installed?
We recommend keeping your windows up for at least 2-4 days. If windows are rolled down before that time frame the tint often peels off because it has not has enough time to cure. Should this happen we can redo your window at a low cost, but it is not covered under the warranty.
  • How long does the film take to fully cure?
It is nearly impossible to get every drop of application solution from between the film and window. Therefore, there is a drying time ("cure time") for the film, when the remaining application solution evaporates. During this time, the film is still performing ti its full solar control and safety capabilities, however it is a common to see bubbles, haze, streaks and other visual defects in the film as it cures. This is completely normal, and these will dissapear as the film dries out. The amount of time for the film to fully cure can vary drastically. If it is a dark solar control film on a hot summer day, the film can be completely cured within a few days. If it is a heavy gauge safety film installed during the winter time, it's not uncommon for the curing process to last a few weeks. During the drying time, the bubbles and streaks are purely cosmetic.
  • What do I use to safely clean my windows?
After your windows are tinted, you need to wait a couple of days to clean them. You don' want to risk pulling the tint loose before it fully dries. Once your vehicle has been tinted, the windows will have to be wiped down, but will probably need a proper cleaning with a soft paper towel and any non-ammonia cleaner. Do NOT us the blue "Windex with Ammonia-D" or any blue colored cleaners because they usually have ammonia in them. We suggest using vinegar Windex (Green) or any of the citrus Windex's. There are other cleaners made specifically for tinted windows such as "Ammonia-Free Spray Away-Foam Spray", which work very well. You can also use soap and water, vinegar and water or really anything without ammonia or abrasives.
  • How durable is window tint?
Many times our customers inquire about the durability of window film - "Will my kids tear it up?". We are glad to report this is not a problem. Pets are also a concern but damage is usually confined to smudges that just need to be cleaned. The hard scratch resistant coating found on quality window fim products do an excellent job protecting window tint from every day use as well as kids and pets. A word of caution is to remember window tinting is installed on the inside of the glass and is usally coated with a high quality scratch resistant layer for protection. The key word is resistant. Take care when loading and unloading objects with sharp or hard edges, boxes, sporting equipment, ect. It is possible to tear even the best window tinting material with a sharp or hard object hitting against the tint. Glass without tinting, or factory window tint, can be damaged in this fashion also. If you accidentally cause damage to the film, the cost of re-doing the window is generally inexpensive. Unfortunately, these types of damages are not covered under the warranty.
  • What causes the window tinting to turn purple and bubble?
UV rays from the sun are responsible for damaging your cars interior and excessive heat build-up are usually the cause of bubbles froming in the window tint. These bubbles are a result of a failure in the films adhesive. You can protect yourself from this potential problem by purchasing a brand name window tint material. We carry several lines of film that have a high temperature adhesive system and 99% of UV protection capabilities, which allows them to give a manufacture backed guarentee against fading and bubbling.
  • How do black dots and lines at the edge of the windows affect window tinting?
The black dots, or matrix patterns, as well as the lines at the top of some windows, are made of Teflon material that is applied at the factory. Purely cosmetic, they hide trim lines and edges on different vehicles. The thickness of these teflon-type areas makes them incredibly difficult when applying window tint. Window tint is designed to adhere directly to the glass. The black lines across the top of some windows can prevent window tint from sticking and cannot be covered. When black dots are encountered, the window tint sticks to the slightly raised dot. This can give, depending on the thickness of material, a lighter or different look in the area of the black matrix dots. This poses no risk of peeling. In some cases, the dot pattern or lines usually put at the top of some windows are so thick that it makes it impossible for the tint to stick at all.
  • Will you travel to my home to tint my vehicle?
We do not travel to install window film on vehicles. Window tinting must be done inside a controlled environment to prevent dirt, dust and debris from getting under the film.
  • What are these scratches or streaks in my window tint?
This is another commonly asked question and is sometimes confused with being a defect in the film; however, it is actually caused by a vehicle's weather stripping. You'll notice a fuzzy, felt-type material that lines the weather stripping around your windows. This felt functions as a trap for small particles of dirt when you roll your windows up or down. Some vehicles have both sides lined, while others only have the exterior side. When only the exterior side is lined it makes the interior more susceptible to trapping dirt and debris. When you roll your windows up or down, the dirt, or sometimes even the hard plastic of the stripping itself, can cause the film to scratch.
  • What are these chips in my tint?
One thing to be careful about, once you have window tint, is your seat belts. When removing your seat belt, be careful to not allow it to sling over and hit the window as it will make a little chip in the tint each time the seat belt hits.
  • What is paint protection film?
More than just an invisble bra for cars, PPF can help protect many areas of your vehicle from scratches, dents, stains or swirls caused by road debris, rocks, bug droppings, and other environmental elements. Paint protection film is an 8 mil, clear polyurethane film. This virtually invisble film will not alter the color or design elements of your vehicle.
  • Why have PPF installed?
Your vehicle is one of the most expensive purchases you will make. Keeping your vehicle looking new and protecting it with a quality paint protection film from a company you can trust is important.
  • What is the difference between XPEL PPF and other traditional PPF's on the market?
XPEL is synonymous with quality in the paint protection industry. No other brand has such an extensive design and testing process. It has excellent durability and exceptional clarity with virtually no orange peel, making it the clearest film in the industry and virtually invisible on the vehicle. It is manufactured in the USA.
  • How is PPF installed?
The highest quality of automobile protection begins with a perfect installation. A plotter is used to cut patterns to the individual car, based on XPELs Design Access Program (DAP) Software. This software allows us to offer our customers the most customizable and precise coverage in the industry. The vehicle is prepped (detailed). The PPF has an adhesive on the product and is then installed on the vehicle, using an alcohol based solution.
  • Where can I put PPF?
Paint Protection Film can be professionally installed on any area of your vehicle that are most vunerable to damage to protect your vehicles finish from scratches, chips, stains and other damaging elements. You can protect rocker panels from stones and debris kicked up by tires; hoods, bumpers and mirror backs from flying debris (gravel, bug acids and tar); door handle cups and door edges from rings, keys, belt buckles and purses; or full hoods, trunks and roofs from bird droppings and tree sap.
  • Can I install PPF myself?
We strongly recommend that PPF be installed by a Certified Installer. They have the training and experience to make sure you receive an installation that is fit perfectly for your vehicle. In addition, the warranty is valid only if the film is installed by a Certified Installer.
  • How do I care for my PPF?
Caring for your PPF is easy. After film installation, wait one week before washing or waxing your vehicle to ensure proper adhesion build of the film has been achieved. Use waxes that do NOT contain dyes, abrasive polishes and/or rubbing compounds. After waxing your car, you can remove any wax build-up along film edges with a lint-free cloth.
  • Can the film be removed?
Yes, the film has a patented adhesive that allows for removal without damaging the paint.
  • Will my vehicle's paint fade or look different when the film is removed?
The paint protected by the film fades at the same rate as the paint left exposed, so there is no difference in appearance.
  • What is the benefit of getting your car detailed?
According to Auto Trader and NADA, choosing professional auto detailing services performed on your vehicle can increase its monetary value significantly. We realize it requires an extensive amount of time and energy to clean every nook and cranny of a vehicle, reguarly scheduled maintenance is highly recommended as it further enhances its value.
  • How long in advance do I need to schedule an appointment?
In most cases, all we need is 24 hours notice for an appointment. We do tend to get busier during the warmer months, so calling more that 24 hours in advance is always helpful. We also have a before and after key drop at our 1710 Cumberland Point Dr. SE, Ste. 5 location in Marietta Georgia.
  • What is the difference between an Exterior Detail and a Paint Restoration?
As a general rule, our exterior detail is primarily completed to add protection to the outside of the vehicle, whereas the paint restoration helps bring life back into your vehicles exterior. The paint restoration might be a good fit for you if you are looking to remove or reduce swirl marks or light-medium scratches.
  • What are Ceramic Coatings?
Ceramic coatings are extremely durable vehicle protection systems. Depending on the coating used they are suitable for use on paintwork, wheels, glass and plastic trim. The basic chemical composition of ceramic coating is Silicon Dioxide (SiO2). Ceramic coatings may also be reffered to as quartz or glass coatings.
  • Why Ceramic Coat?
It's a good investment to permanently protect the exterior from deteriorating prematurely and maintain a higher resale value. Less maintenance due to the slickness of the coating won't allow dirt, brake dust and road tar to stick to your paint, wheels or glass nearly as much making cleaning your vehicle a much more enjoyable and effortless process. Not to mention you will see ultimate gloss and color depth not comparable to anything else. Properly maintained vehicles will shine like new for many years to come.
  • How is the coat applied?
Coating is carefully applied by a certified applicator as a liquid one panel at a time covering the exterior painted surfaces. The paintwork is firstly decontaminated and prepared to ensure the coating achieves a good bond to the paintwork.
  • What is your recommended maintenance plan?
We advise that every 12 months the vehicle is thorughly decontaminated by the removal of any road tar, iron, tree sap and industrial fallout deposits that may have accumulated. Following that we will apply an SiO2 sealant to rejuvenate the ceramic coating and enhance its hydrophobic properties. Our Premium Mini Detail package slightly reworked with a different finishing product that contains high SiO2 content sealant is ideal for this.
  • Are there different types of ceramic coatings?
There are many products available on the market. The principle differences are the amount of SiO2 content in the product. Some have levels as low as 5% as typically found in maintenance sprays. Others have as much as 70%. As a general rule the higher level SiO2 the more durable the product will be. Our New Car Detail (Ceramic) uses products with very high levels of SiO2 content.
  • How long do they last?
This will depend on the type of coating and the environment in which the car is driven and stored. There will also be a dependency on how well the coating is maintained. For instance Ceramic Pro forms a highly durable bond with paintwork which can last a number of years on a well maintained car. Ceramic Pro is resistant to chemicals so it will not be washed away by strong car wash shampoos and cleaning chemicals. However aggressive car washing with brushes or automatic car washes will reduce the lifespan of the product. We recommend only washing your car with microfiber cloths. As with any paintwork treatment, good regular maintenance is required for the best results and longevity of the product. Ceramic coatings can be removed by abrasion such as machine polishing, cutting compounds or cut and polish. Neglect such as failure to wash the vehicle reguarly (Weekly) can also reduce the performance and durability of the product.
  • What do ceramic coatings do?
These very resilient coatings will give superior protection against light surface scratching caused by poor washing, harmful UV rays, graffiti, dirt build-up, premature aging and oxidation, weathering, bird droppings, brake dust, and even help prevent acid rain stain. Your treated car will not only be easier to clean but it will also stay clean longer due to its super hydrophobic properties. Ceramic coatings are second to none when it comes to giving your paint that deep rich reflective gloss and shine.
  • How do I keep the car clean in the meantime?
A careful and regular washing regime using a PH neutral shampoo and/or hydrophobic spray will keep your car looking pristine. We can supply these products directly or point you in the direction of online retailers. The cost to you is the same either way. Also avoid letting your vehicle air dry. Always use quality microfiber to dry.
  • Are ceramic coatings apply and forget products?
Absolutely not, despite being very durable they still need maintaining. Beware of the hype that comes with many car treatment systems (ceramic and dealership applied treatments) that promise no polishing and lifetime protection with no maintenance as part of the deal. We have worked on countless vehicles with various coating systems applied and have yet to find any that meet the often extravagant claims made by the industry. It is simply not possible to coat a car, then treat it to the occasional wash, and for it to remain glossy and contaminant free several years down the road.
  • How do ceramic coatings compare against dealership sealants?
They are much more durable in almost every aspect of protection and visually appear to have a much higher gloss characteristic.
  • How do they work?
Waxes and many paint sealants sit on the applied surface. Ceramic coatings work by bonding a thin layer of a product directly to your cars paintwork creating a new substrate. Once bonded the product is much harder to remove than traditional products and is, therefore, more durable.
